All Aboard the Nostalgia Train
An introductory post to this blog, focusing on nostalgia from the 1990s and 200s.

What's this all about, anyway?
It’s taken me a long time to figure out what I want to write about. I have a place for my serious reflections on mental health, my past attempts at “serious” blogging about literature and craft beer never quite took off (mostly because I was too lazy to keep up with it) and as much as I seemingly don’t have a problem talking about myself, I need a new hook. Something I can insert myself into, even if it’s entirely not about me. I could muse about comics, but that’s my day-to-day. I could pontificate on wrestling (my new favorite interest), but I still have so much to learn. What I really, really, really want to talk about is what I’ve often found myself gravitating to and rambling about more than anything else.
I want to talk about the 1990s. And the 2000s.
I’m not a pop culture historian. I’m not a media connoisseur. Hell, I don’t really consider myself an authority on much of anything. But I do know what I like, and what topics I’m aggressively interested in, and what my friends, loved ones, and all those closest to me are sick of hearing me prattle on about; whether it be existential musings on forgotten TV shows lost in the Bermuda Triangle that was the cusp of the new century, Carson Daly’s impact on our socio-political climate, definitive rankings of every episode of Full House, the Shakesperean revival in teen dramadies and anything and everything in between.
So instead of waiting for the A.V. Club to pluck the words out of my head before I ever utter them out loud or get them down on paper, I’m going to start waxing nostalgic for you all to enjoy. Or at least I hope you’ll enjoy.
Aw, here it goes!
